RICHARDSON (dallasnews.com) – Lakeside Tower, an eight-story building once occupied by Nortel, sold this week. Stream Realty Partners LP purchased the 200,000-square-foot project at 2350 Lakeside Drive for an undisclosed amount from Miranda Office Partners. Over the next three months, Stream Realty will renovate the Telecom Corridor building, completely redoing all common areas, said Ben Hautt, Stream’s project partner.

NEW YORK (Reuters News Service) – Rental housing that does not cost an arm and a leg is disappearing in the United States, according to a report from Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. Apartments are being demolished as they age and deteriorate and at the same time rents are rising. The report showed growing disparities between low-income and higher income renters ability to find apartments they could afford to rent.

AUSTIN (statesman.com) – The Real Estate Council, a group founded in 2000 by Austin’s development and environmental communities, has pledged $400,000 to the Hill Country Conservancy for the protection of scenic and environmentally sensitive land.
